Wading River, Wharton State Forest, NJ, June, 2008

We camped at Bodine Field in the Wharton State Forest in southern NJ to kayak on the Wading River. The weather was quite warm, and it was a good day to get wet. Lots of first time kayakers got a taste of the sport, along with lots of overhanging trees and shrubs. The Mountain Laurel was in full bloom. Also, a possible troop record 5 lbs of bacon was consumed between breakfast and dinner, along with burgers, dogs, corn on the cob and watermelon.
